Experience

Lucy has over 18 years’ experience in fraud and regulatory law. She specialises in defending fraud cases at the highest level. These are usually very high value, complex frauds often attracting national publicity. The cases are often brought by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Trading Standards, HMRC and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Lucy also has a specialism in prosecution cases for Trading Standards. This is a niche area of work and gives Lucy the ability to think through cases from every angle. This experience is extremely valuable to individuals requiring a defence and to any prosecution authority.

Lucy has a vast experience of different types of fraud case including MTIC (Missing Trader Intra Community – VAT fraud); ponzi fraud; mortgage fraud; insurance fraud; money market manipulation fraud; advance fee fraud and many others. Lucy was recently involved in the high profile Euribor trial at Southwark Crown Court which received international publicity.

In regulatory work Lucy has worked with individuals and businesses in proceedings concerning the Environment Agency, the FCA, HMRC and many others.
